The first picture of Vidya Balan’s upcoming film ‘Begum Jaan’ is finally public. The picture that surfaced online, sees lead actress Balan occupied into her character.

She plays the madam of a brothel and can be seen smoking a hookah sitting on a bed and being served by co-star Gauahar Khan. Vidya sports a dishevelled and de-glamourous avatar.

‘Begum Jaan’ is the Hindi adaptation of National Award-winning filmmaker Srijit Mukherji’s Bengali film, ‘Rajkahini’. The film explores into the lives of 11 women living in a brothel that finds itself divided by the newly-chalked LOC, with half of the house in India and the other half in Pakistan post-partition.

The film is scheduled to hit screens on March 17, 2017. The film also stars Pallavi Sharda , Priyanka Sethia, Gauahar Khan , Flora Saini , Ridhima Tiwari, Ravija Chauhan and Poonam Rajput.
