As the young popular actress Alia Bhatt turned 22, here’s 10 interesting facts about her which you may not have known.

Alia Bhatt has much love for pets and animals. If you check her instagram photos, she has lots of selfies taken with her cat. Her cat’s name is Pikka which she kept after the cartoon character Pikachu from Pokemon.

She eats a lot. Even though she looks slim, she loves food. Her favorites includes French Fires, yogurt and cold beverages.

She is not just talented in acting, but also very talented in  creating charcoal paintings. The image above is her first charcoal painting.

Though Alia is not a fashionista, she has started loving the world of fashion after the shoot of her movie ‘Student of the Year’. She launched her own style of clothing in October 2014 in association with Jabong.com an online fashion portal.

Her first movie was ‘Sangharsh’ (1999) where she played the role of younger Preity Zinta’s character. The movie featured Akshay Kumar and Preity Zinta.

Alia Bhatt was lucky to be born as the daughter of Mahesh Bhatt. But she never wanted to be introduced by her father. She auditioned for “Student of the year’ and was selected among 400-500 girls.

And yes she got slim and sexy. Alia lost 16 kgs of her weight in 3 months for debuting in Karan Johar’s film ‘Student of the Year’.

The young actress also sang ‘Sooha Saaha’ in the movie Highway (2014) along with Pakistani singer Zeb Bangash. She next sang the unplugged version ‘Samjhawan’ in ‘Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania (2014).

Alia Bhatt won the Filmfare Critics Awards for the best actress from the movie ‘Highway’ (2014). She played a teenage girl who develops stockholm syndrome in Imtiaz Ali’s ‘Highway’

Alia’s father is a famous Bollywood director Mahesh Bhatt. Mahesh is of Gujarati descent and her mother is of Kashmiri- German ancestry. She has an elder sister and two half-siblings.
