Veteran actor Om Puri passes away at 66 due to heart attack

Veteran actor Om Puri passed away Friday morning. As per reports,  the actor suffered a major heart attack. Om Puri was known for his versatility.

Om Puri was last in news due to his contoversial statement on Indian soldiers post the Uri attacks, “Did we force them to join the army? My father was also in the army… We are proud of them (soldiers)… I am asking you: Do you want India and Pakistan to become Israel and Palestine?”  However soon the actor realized his mistake and apologised for the same

Every body is saddened by the vetaran actor’s sudden demise.  Bollywood fraternities too expressed their grief on his death.

 Om Puri has appeared in both Bollywood and Hollywood films. He has also appeared in Bristish and Pakistani movies. The actor has received the fourth highest civilian award of India, Padma Shri and OBE. Puri was an active member in the art films movement in the 1970s. His popular movies include Bhavni Bhavai (1980), Sadgati (1981), Ardh Satya (1982), Mirch Masala (1986) and Dharavi (1992).
