Nepali cinema ‘Jhola‘ has once again been appreciated by the audiences who came to attend the ‘Shalinadi festival’. ‘Jhola’ will have special screenings at the month long festival which was started from the 5th of January.
The movie had very less audiences at the first day of its special show. But the movie gained more audiences from the second day and is now being screened five times a day. The demand for the show has been increasing every day as every show is turning into house full.
Director Yadav Bhattarai, producer Divya Timilsina, co-producer Ram Gopal Thapa and child artist Sujal Nepal were seen at the festival where they also watched the movie. The capacity of the temporary screening hall constructed at the festival is 500. Every year 30 million people attend the festival. ‘Jhola’ has been expected to be watched by 60 thousand people at the festival.
‘Jhola’ is about a Hindu culture where a women have to kill herself through self-immolation upon her husband’s death. Previously, Nepal picked ‘Jhola’ for foreign language Oscar race. It is the sixth film to enter the oscar race by isolated Himalayan nation.
